Now and then my screen does not come one on my 7'NAV HD :thumbd:

Is this a common problem?

Mine has had that too a few (3-4) times. Black screen, or it just freezes. Just give it a (few) minute(s), it sorts itself out after a while.

Yes I have had this on several occasions, black screen of death, have asked the dealer about it, but they have never heard this happening before
Two times totally black, another time, started off black, then after about 1 mile the garage opened and out comes the white Abarth then everything was ok

So don't know what to think of it

Did some checking on a german forum and there seem to be happen now and then so it is a bug that they need to fix. Fiat is aware of this issue and I'm taking my car in to have this fixed

Hy, mine 7" Uconnect was going down several times, and always starts again by itself. Till I removed my music USB and for months now no going down problems anymore.

It still looks as a software problem !

My dealer says they want to do a update but the research I have done, I would say this is a temp sensor issue.

The display has a temp sensor that prevents the screen from overheating and I'm pretty sure it is the culprit.

Mine never comes back unless I turn it off and wait  :thumbd:

I've also had this issue occasionally. Not really often, but enough to be annoying. The LCD display is black, but the lights on the controls/buttons are lit, and it still plays media, and can skip tracks etc. Switching the unit on/off doesn't cure it. Turning ignition off, restarting doesn't cure it. Turning off, locking car, reopening and restarting doesn't cure it. But if I leave it for a good while (parked at work, or overnight), it works again next time.

Mine recently was recalled to dealer for the "VP2 Radio Software Update" and I have the impression it happens a bit more often now than it did before that software update.

I suspect this is some kind of software bug. I haven't tried removing the USB stick to see if that helps, but will do so next time it happens.

I had this problem with my 2017 Trofeo too. Screen would not turn on. A few miles into my journey I tried again and it seems ok for now.

I had to bring it in for an infotainment software recall/update in May 2018, I've never had a blackout since then
