Amazing. I need to take a look :) The CRV we have is a great car but this 500X looks much more aesthetically pleasing.

Can I ask if those dials for the Aircon are the type you rotate under hand to adjust power settings? I REALLY like that! Very tactile compared to push buttons.

Yes they are, same as the Alfa dials.

Agreed Shant but are there not miles better options for a family already out there? More power, better looks and practicality can all be had already.

People like me for example who find it extremely hard to go to another non Italian market would prefer this choice :)

Superb, they are just a pleasure to use.

An Abarth version would blow my mind, 4x4 Abarth which is superb on road and off...... yes please :)

    Watch out Dartmoor, lol.

I'd rather have a Focus ST estate. I think some people are looking at that ugly mess through Abarth tinted spectacles. If it was made by another company it would get slated on here.

I completely agree with you.  All these crossover's etc, are just awful and you cannot make a real 'sporty' car out of them.  It's like the Range Rover 'Sport'... Seriously?  Anyhow, we all have our own opinions and I'm sure this will sell, just like the MINI countryman and clubman or whatever those things are called.

I like the idea of the 500X abarth, but would all depend on how it looked. Make it a rally car?

They did show a crossover concept a year or so ago on here, but was taken down as it was meant for private market research, the one shown looked good and I said it would sell ( just look at the Juke )
There was also concept pics for a coupe, new 500 and punto replacement. Anyone remember that??

I've noticed you've mentioned an Abarth version of this a couple of times now John - either you're 'sowing seeds' or you want one yourself  ;D

Seriously though, I think I mentioned before, although Abarth version of the 500x would be tempting, I don't think it would tempt me away from my Yeti.

The Rally style 500x  :thumb: Make sure it can still tow though. The number of hottish family motors I have tried to buy but can't fit towball on for trailer/bikes etc, rules them out is ridiculous.

As a current Ape owner considering a replacement, I certainly wouldn't want a 500x to replace it.  I would rather go for an Alfa Mito or A595.

I would love to see a proper replacement for the Punto than another variation of the 500 theme, but Fiat seem committed to having a range of cars all based on the 500.

Now I'm a dad I take notice of things like this a little more. From previous discussion some people don't like the idea of an Abarth version.

The 500x Cross (not city) is much better looking than a Countryman and, if they can find better looking seats, I'd have an Abarth version only.

Going to the local Fiat dealer tomorrow to have a nosey anyway to see what it's like inside.  It looks nothing like the 500L which is a good thing.

Only problem is which relative do I sell my car to if I ever decide to change? There is a long waiting list including my dad who is almost 70!

I collected my A500 today, and the dealer showed me the last render from Fiat (received this week) of the next gen A500 due mid 2016 and the A500X. The 500X is a 3 or 5 door with a provisional launch date of mid/end 2017, both of them look incredible (but they are just drawings), but even if they are 90% accurate, they look incredible.

And at this moment, renderings are all they are.
There is absolutely no official murmurings about Abarth 500X at all.

Are we allowed to see the renderings?
